Setting: A courtroom of a totalitarian society.
Your punishment for not falling in line will be swift
You have chosen a path of disobedience of authority
Your philosophy has broken our world, causing a rift
So now your fate has been decided by this majority
The only wrong I’ve done was speak my mind
You say I poisoned the world; I merely opened their eyes
You see, they followed sheepishly and were blind
Let this serve as the beginning of the destruction of your lies
Silence to the condemned man before you meet your death
Do with me what you will but know that I will die free
You fool, you don’t deserve our time, so save your breath
You are hereby exiled from this society and the planet you must flee
You will go where the others like you have gone to live out the rest of your life
You are banished to the planet Earth, so you can cause us no more strife

I love the eerie suspense in those novels. 1984 was a beauty and one of my favorite dystopian novels. I read it last year (again) just before summer. Glad I pulled in that suspense! 😁

Orwell’s classic is one of the best and eerily prophetic. I remember thinking that when I first read it in middle school. Spooky stuff. 😨

It is creepy how prophetic it is. I remember after the first read it stuck with me for a long time. It now sits on my desk and has been there for a long time. It is just one of those books that I keep out to peruse through.
